He happily puts them on, but is overwhelmed when all of the animals he meets corner him and rattle off their wish lists. Nicholas tries to get away and runs into Santa, at last. He relays the animals' requests, forgetting to ask anything for himself, but later realizes that helping to give to others has made him happier than getting any gift. Nicholas's silliness and frustration will appeal to youngsters as will the simple message.
Most people just love Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. Join Pooh and all of his friends to decorate a Christmas tree. The tree is tall so it needs everyone's help to decorate it. Piglet is panicking since he is afraid that they cannot reach the top of the tree. See who help them reach the top in this great Disney The Holiday Tree story book.
Disney The Holiday Tree Pooh Book is a post from: Kids Story Books

This is a Winnie the Pooh board book by Disney. You can read with Winnie the Pooh all year through since Disney has so many books published by A Disney Enterprises and Reader's Digest Young Families Book. This board book for toddlers is based on the Winnie the Pooh works by A.A. Milne an E.H. Shepard. The book is written by Catherine Lukas and illustrated by Atelier Philippe Harchy. The book measures 5.9x5.9x0.25 inches. The book has 14 pages of Pooh fun.

In this book, Pooh and Piglet set out to decorate for Christmas in the Hundred-Acre Wood. Piglet found a perfect tree to decorate and they began to decorate. Piglet and Pooh bear could not reach the top of the tree so Tigger helped them but Tigger was not tall enough either. Then Rabbit, Eeyore and Roo passed by and everyone stacked up trying to reach the top but they still could not reach the top. But soon two turtle doves helped them and their tree became fully decorated with a star at the top.

This is great little Christmas story especially if you like the Disney's Winnie the Pooh series. Everyone was being themselves in this Pooh board book.

Have you ever wondered how high the sky is? Pipkin the penguin wants to know just that. Join him and some helpful friends on an amazing journey to find out. This is a great book for children ages 3 years and up. It is called How High is the Sky? and it has 24 great, colorful pages. This book is big, measuring 10x10.2x0.5 inches, and it is a cushioned hard-back book. That means, the covers are soft but thick and sturdy at the same time.
About How High is the Sky?

How High is the Sky? is the story of a cute little penguin called Pipkin. Pipkin was very small but he had big questions. He wanted to know many things including how high the sky was. Pipkin was on a quest to find out how high the sky was. He got on a bird and they both flew up to touch the sky. But, the sky was still too high for them so Pipkin got on a hot-air balloon to go even higher to try to reach the sky. Pipkin tried to catch some clouds but they always floated away when he reached them. Even though Pipkin was very high up in the air, the sky still looked so far away. Then a space ship with an astronaut passed by and Pipkin got on and they went to the moon. Eventually, it was time for Pipkin to go home. He reached a conclusion - find out what he concluded how high the sky was!

What is the poster at the end of How High is the Sky? book?

At the end of the book, there is a very tall poster to show you how far Pipkin went up to try to find out how high the sky was. The poster is folded many times and when fully opened, it may even be taller than you! You can hang this poster up in your room. It is cute, fun and educational.

Reviews of Super Duck

“After reading Super Duck, Duck dons a cape and mask and tries a variety of ways to get Goat’s kite up in the air. His friends patiently let him try his own ideas, like using a truck to fly the kite, before coming up with their own conventional solutions. Finally the superhero comes through with an unexpected maneuver. Alborough’s short, amusing rhyming couplets keep the text moving along fluidly, making the book a good choice for storytimes. Each spread has several panels of illustrations, which will remind readers of other, more successful superheroes. The characters’ movements and energy sometimes cause them to break out of the boundaries of their panels, creating a dynamic feel. All in all, this funny book is about friendship-the protagonist is allowed his individuality, but is supported when things don’t work out. A gem.” -School Library Journal

“‘Super Duck’ is the latest in a series of humorous ‘Duck’ books written and illustrated by Jez Alborough for children ages 3-7. Filled with wonderful colorful pictures of Duck and his friends Goat, Sheep and Frog, ‘Super Duck’ is a fast paced tale of the well-intentioned hero Duck who comes (somewhat irregularly for a superhero) to the rescue of his friends and their flyaway kite. The cartoon-like illustrations leap and expand beyond their frames in a thoroughly loveable, enticing way. The rhyming couplets also help to keep the pace and interest at key pitch. ‘Super Duck’ is a fable of gentle friendship, punctuated with joy and delight. Unlike some super heroes, Super Duck sometimes fails, but he keeps trying with the help of his friends. ‘Super Duck’ will be a favorite read-aloud book for its generation.” – Reviewer’s Choice, June Children’s Bookwatch, Midwest Book Review

Reviews of Guji Guji

"...Muted ink-and-wash drawings of gray and brown makes this picture book look like an old classic...Chen's story of love, acceptance and self-discovery gives every sign of becoming a well-worn favorite." - Publishers Weekly

"Chen's vivid characters -- the exuberantly befuddled ''crocoduck'' and his adopted family, the riotously creepy crocodiles that loom like shadows -- are rendered with wit and warmth...Love overcomes all differences here, and Guji Guji's antics are laugh-out-loud adorable." - The New York Times Book Review

"This beautifully written story has much to say about appreciating families and differences, and it will resonate with children long after the final page is turned...a must-have for any collection." - School Library Journal (Starred Review)

"This sweet, encouraging story is a great read that both entertains and encourages readers. Inspiring and heartwarming, this story gently conveys positive messages about the importance of being who you are, standing up for what is right for you, caring about others, appreciating differences, not giving in to peer pressure or to other people's expectations of you, and listening to yourself—all through the metaphor of story. This book may appeal to families with adopted kids, to children from abusive families, and to anyone who feels different." - Cheryl Rainfield, Uplifting Picture Books That Don't Preach

"A terrific book for unconventional families - single families, gay families, step families, families with adopted or foster children, and families of mixed race or ethnicity. It shows that family is made up of folks who love and care about each other. You don't have to look like each other or act the same way to be a family." - A Readable Feast

"A sweet story about loyalty, bravery, and accepting the differences between us all." - Blue House on a Hill

"...there really is something in it for readers of all ages. Above all, there is a bubbly humor and an all-around, gleeful delight in the denouement." - Paper Tigers

"Wonderful! Don't miss it!" - In the Pages

PreSchool-Grade 1—Samantha, an anteater, is biking by with a wagon-load of books when she sees her friends Grant, an aardvark, and Antoine, an armadillo, standing by a huge packing crate. They are convinced that it can be turned into a time machine. They add various "hoozie-doozies," Grant sets the dials to another time and place, and Antoine makes blast-off sounds, but the machine stays put. After they make some adjustments, the rickety rocket rolls down a hill and topples over. Tired and bored, the boys settle down to read Sam's books and give up the project. Sam takes over and makes some of her own improvements, and-voilà!-she turns the box into the best do-it-yourself bookmobile imaginable. And, as proven by the other friends who come by to check out books, it's a success. Any child who has ever built a blanket fort or played inside a box should be able to relate to these anthropomorphic animals. The gouache and colored-pencil illustrations of the gadgets and gizmos attached to the crate add humot, and there is a lot of white space for the large, clear text. Though not essential, this is a fun selection.—Martha Simpson, Stratford Library Association, CT

Review of A Mighty Fine Time Machine

Samantha, an anteater, happens upon her friends Grant (an aardvark) and Antoine (an armadillo) one day after the two have traded their “Yummy Gummys” and “Buggy Bonbons” for a large packing box labeled “Time Machine.” Samantha, with her wagon-load of books, is sure that her friends have been bamboozled. Nevertheless, the three work tirelessly, adding “doodads” and “hoozie-doozies,” making blast-off noises, and counting backwards until they are sure they have a working time machine. But, alas, nothing happens. The boys give up and start reading Samantha’s books, but Samantha continues to work until she has the best do-it-yourself bookmobile ever. And it works! Children who have ever created anything out of a box will identify with the trio’s ingenuity. The colored pencil-and-gouache illustrations add warmth and humor to the story. Bloom’s whimsical word choice will further draw children into the story and have them rooting for the friends’ success. Preschool-Grade 1. --Shauna Yusko

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-K- This rhyming story relates how jungle animals prepare for a Halloween party. They engage in all of the typical activities associated with such an event-making costumes, trick-or-treating, playing party games, and then going home.

The rhythm is consistent and will inspire clapping from a young audience-"Through the trees,/oh, so dark!/Over the hills/to Jungle Park./Jungle Prizes/Jungle Prancing/Jungle Music/Jungle Dancing/It's nothing like you've ever seen-/It's a Jungle Halloween!"

The vivid, double-page paintings show nonthreatening and adorable cartoonlike animals. Pineapple and coconut-o'-lanterns light the jungle while trick-or-treat bags are filled with candy and peanuts, bananas, and other assorted items. The story and images steer clear of traditional Halloween themes, which can easily frighten preschoolers. Use this book with Zoe Hall's It's Pumpkin Time! (Scholastic, 1994) and Patricia Hubbard's Trick or Treat Countdown (Holiday, 1999). A surefire showstopper for storytimes. Linda M. Kenton, San Rafael Public Library, CA

Review of Jungle Halloween

Ages 2-4. In a ridiculous reversal that will appeal to preschoolers, the jungle animals dress up for Halloween. The rhino dons a hula skirt, the elephant a jester's hat, the crocodile big cowboy boots. It's really only one joke, and some of the very bright pictures may be too busy for the young audience. Still, children will enjoy the very simple rhyme and the appropriately garish celebration with the animals painting costumes, carving pumpkins, blowing up balloons, and pretending to be monsters for the holiday. Hazel Rochman
