Stellaluna
Stellaluna is a thick and big board book, compared to other board books for toddlers. The book measures 7.5x7.5x0.75 inches and has 42 pages. It is a board book but it is not a board book for babies. It is more for older children because there is a lot of writing in it even though there are also many pictures. Every other page has a picture. The book is by Janell Cannon and it is an award winning book.
My kids did not like the look of the bat at first but the story grew on them and by the end of the book, they loved Stellaluna! They thought she was so cute!
At the back cover it says: When a little bat gets separated from her mother, she learns a big lesson about friendship in the unlikeliest of places. Now enjoy this beloved tale in a boar book edition, adapted for sharing with little ones.

Story of Stellaluna
This is a story book about a mother fruit bat and her new baby which she named Stellaluna. In the beginning of the book, little baby Stellaluna was separated from her mother. The rest of the book was about her adventure to get back to her mom. The bat can look weird at first for toddlers but the story is beautiful and very heart warming. Even though the baby bat was lost and could not find her way home, she survived with the help of her new friends and family, a mama bird and her babies.
The story is beautiful because Stellaluna tried to live a life like a bird, sleeping at night, eating insects and sleeping in the nest. She did nothing like a bat should and the baby birds even tried to be like Stellaluna at one point, hanging upside down etc. In the end, the little bat was reunited with her mom and brought the birds home to meet her family. Even though birds and bats are so different, they could be friends.

Duck in the Truck
This is a big board book called Duck in the Truck by Jez Alborough, published by Kane Miller Book Publishers. This board book measures 8.5x7.75x0.8 inches. With 30 pages of colorful pictures that are bound to catch the attention of any toddlers, this board book is bigger and thicker than most other board books. Each page has big pictures and just a sentence to read. You know the story by looking at the pictures rather than reading the text.
What is the story of Duck in the Truck?
In this board book, Duck is driving home in a red truck but the truck was stuck so the Duck was trying to move it when a Sheep passed by. Other animals passed by too and they all tried to help Duck. Eventually, the animals were successful at helping to unstuck the truck and Duck drove away leaving all the other animals who helped him stuck instead. So, the story is happy ending for Duck but not happy ending for the other good hearted animals who helped him.
