Question: Should state boards of education be in the book banning business?
Wow...Texas bans "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see" on accident. Which leads to a bigger question. Should those responsible for education be in the business of banning any books? They were attempting to ban a book called "Ethical Marxism: The Categorical Imperative of Liberation" for third grade social studies. First...what third grader would even be interested in that book? Why even mention it when discussing 3rd grade curriculum. Is this political correctness done right wing style? Ideological haste leads to Bill Martin Jr being banned. Ridiculous.
Now we hear that CA districts are banning the DICTIONARY because it defines the term 'oral sex'. This after ONE parent complained. Where do you draw the line? Ban encyclopedias that show the human anatomy?

Answer: No, it is detrimental to education. Banning books is not much different then burning them.
