Farm Animals
If your little ones are fascinated by farm animals, this is a great board book. It is called Farm Animals by Lucy Cousins. Although the cover of this little board book for infants has a picture of a sheep and even the word "sheep", the book is not just about sheep. It has:
- a sheep
- a duck
- a hen
- a pig
- a goat
- a goose
- a cock
- a cow
- a horse and
- a donkey
Each page has a picture simply drawn picture of a farm animal and the name of the animal. There is nothing to read in this book so it is great for infants. The colors are great and the pictures are cute and simple using very few colors on each page. Kids can even draw these animals themselves. The cover of the book is special because it has a soft part of wool that represents the sheep. But, that also means it can get dirty easily and you won't be able to wash it.

This is a big board book called Duck in the Truck by Jez Alborough, published by Kane Miller Book Publishers. This board book measures 8.5x7.75x0.8 inches. With 30 pages of colorful pictures that are bound to catch the attention of any toddlers, this board book is bigger and thicker than most other board books. Each page has big pictures and just a sentence to read. You know the story by looking at the pictures rather than reading the text.
What is the story of Duck in the Truck?
In this board book, Duck is driving home in a red truck but the truck was stuck so the Duck was trying to move it when a Sheep passed by. Other animals passed by too and they all tried to help Duck. Eventually, the animals were successful at helping to unstuck the truck and Duck drove away leaving all the other animals who helped him stuck instead. So, the story is happy ending for Duck but not happy ending for the other good hearted animals who helped him.
